Blueberry margarita

A fresh blueberry margarita with blueberries, lime and a salt rim is the perfect spin on the traditional summer cocktail.

Equipment

  • blender, mini food processor or immersion blender

Ingredients

For the blueberry sauce

  • 1 cup blueberries
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon water

For the margarita

  • ¼ cup blueberry sauce
  • 6 tablespoon tequila blanco your brand preference
  • 6 tablespoon lime juice
  • 4 tablespoon Cointreau or Grand Marnier
  • Ice
  • Fresh blueberries for garnish
  • Lime slice for garnish

Instructions

To make the blueberry sauce

  • Puree in a blender or a small food processor (this recipe amount is not enough for a full sized processor), or an immersion blender, the blueberries, sugar and water. Keep extra in a mason jar in the fridge for other cocktails or awesome uses.

To make the margarita

  • Combine all your ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously to combine all the ingredients.

To assemble a margarita

  • Rub the rim of a glass with salt, add ice to the glass and pour margarita through the strain top of a cocktail shaker. Garnish with a few fresh blueberries and a lime slice.

Notes
